Privacy Policy

Summary

Ruxum is a care coordination app for seniors and their families. We collect only the data needed to support monitoring, safety, and coordination. We do not sell personal data.

Optional Background location disclosure (Android)

Ruxum collects location data (approximate, precise, and background) to enable home/away status and geofence safety alerts for the senior.

If you select Android "Allow all the time," Ruxum may access location when the app is closed or not in use.

Location is used only for family care and safety features, not for advertising.

Location data is shared only with the senior's authorized family network and service providers that operate the app (for example, Firebase and AWS).

You can turn location features off anytime and revoke permission in Android Settings.

Data we collect

• Account and identity: phone number (for sign-in), optional Google sign-in, and account role (for example: Senior, Family Admin, Helper, Responder).
• Contacts: helper names and phone numbers provided by the family admin.
• Health data (optional): Health Connect metrics (for example: steps, sleep, heart rate) if you grant access.
• Location (optional): approximate and/or precise location if you grant access. If you choose Android "Allow all the time", Ruxum may access location in the background for home/away and geofence features.
• Usage activity (optional): aggregated activity confidence derived from device usage signals (we do not store app names).
• App events: task completions, incidents, exceptions, and audit timeline events.
• Device info: device identifiers, app version, and notification token.

How we use data

• Provide care coordination flows (tasks, exceptions, incidents).
• Send notifications and confirmations.
• Support troubleshooting and safety monitoring.
• Provide location-based features when enabled (for example: home/away status and home geofence checks).

Sharing

We only share data with:

• The senior's authorized family network (admins, helpers, and responders you approve).
• Service providers that enable app functionality (for example: Firebase and AWS).

Ruxum may access approximate and/or precise location if you enable location features. If you choose Android "Allow all the time", Ruxum may access location in the background to support home/away status and home geofence checks. Location features are optional and can be disabled or revoked in Android settings. We do not sell location data and only share relevant information with the senior's authorized family network and our service providers needed to operate the app.

Location data is not used for ads personalization, ad targeting, or third-party analytics profiling.

Ruxum is not intended for continuous location tracking or travel history. Location features are tied to the workflows you enable.

Retention

Data is retained for up to 6 months unless otherwise required for safety or legal reasons. We delete or anonymize data on request where feasible.

Raw location points and geofence transition events are retained for up to 30 days, then deleted or de-identified. Derived care and safety events may be retained for up to 6 months.

Security

• Encryption in transit (HTTPS).
• Encryption at rest for stored data.
• Access restricted by role-based permissions.

Your choices

• You can revoke permissions (Health Connect, Location, Usage) at any time in Android settings.
• You can disable optional location-based features at any time.
• You can request account and data deletion.
