About Ruxum
Ruxum was born out of a mission to enhance emergency care and support for seniors. While certain nations have advanced emergency monitoring infrastructures, India doesn’t yet possess an equivalent like the 9-1-1 system. To bridge this gap, we engineered a solution that not only alerts during emergencies but also establishes a dynamic support system through the senior community’s network. This is just the beginning; our vision extends to integrating this framework with ambulances, insurance, hospitals, and medical practitioners in the times ahead.
Founding Story
- After his father in India experienced a stroke years ago, Prasad was prompted to seek a solution that could avert such incidents in the future. Despite residing in a senior citizen community equipped with a 24×7 ambulance service, it relied on his mother’s observance and call for aid. Recognizing the absence of an emergency monitoring product capable of detecting falls and unconsciousness in the Indian market, Prasad, along with his company iMicroMed, developed the necessary algorithms and hardware for Ruxum. This initiative aimed to address this gap and offer a reliable solution for the Indian populace.
- Ruxum was founded under the guidance of Prasad Karnik and his father, Prafull Karnik, who serve as Directors of the company.

Milestones and Achievements
- In April 2022, Ruxum was established as a subsidiary of iMicroMed, backed by investments in finances, inventory, and personnel from iMicroMed.
- By September 2022, the brand name “Ruxum” was successfully registered as a trademark, marking a significant milestone. The product underwent a soft launch during this time, allowing for valuable initial insights and learning.
- In December 2022, Ruxum achieved a major milestone with the nationwide launch of its product. Building upon the experiences and feedback gathered, the product was introduced to a wider audience.
- By March 2023, Ruxum expanded its presence further by launching both the Ruxum brand and its product line on Amazon, increasing accessibility and reach to a broader customer base.
